Fall Carnival Brings Families Together

Laughter, music and the joy of children filled the air as Valley Children’s highly anticipated Fall Carnival took place at George’s River Ranch on a Saturday in October. Nearly 7,000 staff members, providers, volunteers and their families gathered for a day of autumn-themed fun, celebrating the spirit of community that makes Valley Children’s such a special place.

The carnival transformed the ranch into a massive playground, complete with a pumpkin patch, pony rides, yard games, a petting zoo and other entertainment for all ages. Families strolled through the grounds, enjoying the crisp fall weather and making cherished memories together. They also chose from several delicious food options – from barbecue and vegetarian Mediterranean bowls to treats like cinnamon rolls, churros and pumpkin-spiced donuts.

“It’s wonderful to see everyone come together and to have a chance to give back to the teams who give so much to our children and families each day. Events like the Fall Carnival remind us of the strong sense of community and support that truly reflects the heart of Valley Children’s.”

Kelly Beall, Valley Children’s Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer

For some, the event was an opportunity to showcase Valley Children’s culture and values to their families. “To be able to bring our families and show them the type of culture we have at Valley Children’s is amazing,” said Ambulatory Service Representative Marissa Ortiz, who attended with her husband and two children. “My family got to see why I love working at Valley Children’s.”

The Fall Carnival was a way to recognize and appreciate the dedicated teams who give their all every day to care for our patients and families. A heartfelt thank you to everyone – both planners and participants – who made this event a huge success.
