Best Children’s Hospital, U.S. News & World Report: Recognizing and Celebrating Our Exceptional Outcomes

For the eighth year in a row, Valley Children’s was ranked one of the Best Children’s Hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report for our commitment to providing superior clinical care with exceptional outcomes. The rankings are released each year to help families and physicians make informed decisions about where to seek care for rare and life-threatening illnesses. The results are calculated from an intensive analysis of 119 children’s hospitals and a survey of thousands of pediatric specialists.

The 2023-2024 rankings recognize our achievements in seven pediatric specialties: Neonatology, Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgery, Pediatric Neurology and Neurosurgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Pulmonology and Lung Surgery and Pediatric Urology.

“Our kids deserve nothing short of excellence and our dedicated team of doctors and staff fulfill this duty each day without fail.”

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award: Continuing our Commitment to the Best Quality Care for Kids

How better to reach the pinnacle of quality than to seek the nation’s highest quality award? Valley Children’s embarked on achieving the Baldrige national quality award which recognizes outstanding commitment to sustainable excellence through innovation, continuous improvement and visionary leadership.

Valley Children’s believes that the process of competing at this extraordinary level with healthcare systems across the country helps us continue to enhance the great care we strive to deliver every day.

As a result, Valley Children’s was one of just six hospitals in California to be recognized in the 2022 California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE), the state-level equivalent of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in California.

“Performance excellence, exceptional patient safety and quality and continuous quality improvement are hallmarks of Valley Children’s, and we knew that the Baldrige process would only further strengthen our organization.”

Leapfrog Award: Patient Safety and Quality of Care Are Our Top Priorities

Valley Children’s has once again been ranked as a Top Children’s Hospital by The Leapfrog Group for our exceptional achievements in patient safety and quality of care. Only eight children’s hospitals in the U.S. received this honor, putting Valley Children’s in the top 3% in the country for quality and safe care. Not only that, but this is the fourth time in five years that Valley Children’s made the list!

Leapfrog Group evaluated more than 2,100 hospitals against rigorous standards defined by Top Hospital Methodology. Standards included quality of patient care across various performance areas, such as infection rates, safe surgery practices, maternity care and prevention of medication errors.

“The most important thing for patients and their families is to know that the care they receive is the safest and of the highest quality, and this award is a testament to the expertise, dedication and commitment of our staff who deliver that standard of care day in and day out.”
