Summer Carnival

Gratitude and Fun Abound at Valley Children’s Summer Carnival

When things get tough, Valley Children’s hard-working employees get tougher – but getting through the last few years hasn’t been a walk in the park. So, on a Saturday in September, we thanked our employees, providers and volunteers for their hard work and honored their accomplishments during a special summer carnival at George’s River Ranch.

“This was the first time in 20 years that we’ve had the opportunity to get together in celebration of the entire team and their families,” said Kelly Beall, Valley Children’s senior vice president and chief people officer. “It was important for us to express gratitude for our team’s dedication and hard work, and acknowledge their efforts to overcome all of the recent challenges we’ve faced.”

Event attendees included Valley Children’s staff, physicians, executive leaders, volunteers and family members. More than 5,000 people gathered to socialize and enjoy great food, carnival games, kid’s activities, entertainment and more. The carnival also hosted local vendors, a farmer’s market and even a petting zoo!

Team members who had shifts to cover during the picnic and could not attend were treated to to-go picnic meals and given tickets to take their families to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo.

“Everyone really enjoyed being celebrated, spending time with their families and connecting with each other outside of the work setting. Gratitude is a powerful force – for our team, our work and the children of this Valley.”
